19-year-old Ali Abdul Basit fled to Pakistan but was caught when DNA from a cigarette butt and inhaler linked him to the scene.
Michael was stabbed outside Mayfield Crescent before his killers stole his car, with three others already jailed.
Basit was found guilty of manslaughter and robbery and will be sentenced in May.
