Six fire engines and 40 firefighters were called to residential Heston Road.
The blaze was in the roof space of a converted loft, which required a 32-metre ladder as part of the response.
The brigade closed off traffic on the section between Alderney Avenue and Great West Road.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, but there are no reported injuries.
