A doctor at the University of Surrey says rising pollen is causing more dogs to have itchy skin and allergies.

Retha Queenan says symptoms include paw licking, ear scratching, and belly rubbing which can lead to infections.

Washing your dog’s paws and stomach after walks and using vet-recommended shampoos are said to help.

In some cases, Dr Queenan says vets may suggest medicines or allergy treatments to ease symptoms and keep dogs comfortable.
