Cambrian opened in 1989 as a place where nearby residents could gather for a range of activities.
The project, which is due to start later this year and last for 5 months, will provide more inside space and better access to the outside area.
The interior will be refreshed and modernised to enhance the accessibility and allow more events to be hosted within it.
