A cedar tree climbed by The Beatles could soon be named Tree of the Year.

Ten nominees from across the country could pick up the Woodland Trust’s top prize, the theme of which is “Rooted in Culture”.

These include The cedar of Lebanon at Chiswick House and Gardens and the Crouch Oak in Addlestone.

The annual competition aims to celebrate rare, ancient or at-risk trees across the UK.
