The plaque celebrates the pioneering educator, activist, and Africa’s first female mayor of a major city, who lived in the area for 30 years.
The unveiling is part of the Broadwater Road Community Fun Day, which brings local people together to celebrate their shared history.
An ‘Africa in Tooting’ guided walk starts at 11:30am, with the plaque ceremony at 2pm beside St Augustine’s Church on Saturday.
