Cecil Farley had the surgery on the clear outer layer at the front of his eyeball.
He said he faced a year-long wait for sight-saving surgery after a human cornea transplant failed.
But he was offered the chance of having an artificial one instead.
Cecil tells us he feels lucky to have been offered the operation.
