An Aer Lingus plane heading to Rome’s also had to land in northern France, while other airliners have been searched after reaching their destination.
It follows similar incidents affecting seven flights on Tuesday when several flights, including one from Heathrow to Poland, had to be diverted.
A Wizz Air flight on Monday also received a similar threat.
Former air traffic controller Michele Robson says it’s very unusual.
