Epsom and St Helier’s hospitals are asking people to get their flu jabs as pressure on emergency care grows ahead of winter.

Their A&E teams are dealing with more patients across Surrey and South London and are working to prioritise those most seriously ill.

We’re also being advised to use NHS 111 online if we need medical help, rather than heading straight to hospital.

The hospitals are warning that rising flu cases could put even greater strain on services in the coming weeks.
