Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters have been tackling a fire at a two-storey mid-terrace house in Ashbourne Grove today.

Part of the front fascia of the house and the roof void were damaged by the fire. A bin store in the front garden was also destroyed.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Two gas cylinders were involved in the fire and were removed and cooled to an ambient temperature as a precaution as some cylinders can explode when exposed to heat.

One of the Brigade’s 32-metre turntable ladders was used at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
