It’s been revealed Kingston’s former Mayor, Noel Hadjimichael, raised more than £38,000 for charity during his year in office.

Learn English at Home and the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry each received just over £19,000.

One helps people improve their English and community standing while the other trains female volunteers to respond to emergencies.

The charities were chosen by Mr Hadjimichael to reflect his “focus on community resilience” during his year as Mayor.
