They’ll cover more than 1,700 miles of the county’s busiest routes, with 10,000 tonnes of salt available.
A further 1,700 grit bins have been filled at locations including steep roads, difficult junctions and sharp bends.
Winter arrangements usually run from October to the end of March but can be extended if cold weather continues.
