Elmbridge Borough Council has confirmed that discussions have taken place with Chelsea Football Club to improve their training ground in Cobham.

It says they are a normal part of the planning process to talk about emerging proposals before any planning application is submitted.

The council says no planning application has been submitted at this stage.

If an application is received, it will be considered through the normal planning process, including public consultation.

Chelsea began training at Cobham in 2005, a year after construction began and work was completed in 2007.
