Mole Valley has been named England’s best place to grow old in a new study, with Epsom and Ewell also making the top six.

The research compared 294 areas across the country, looking at healthcare, transport, housing costs, safety and access to green spaces.

Mole Valley scored highly for community and safety, with low levels of loneliness among residents.

Seven of Surrey’s 11 districts ranked among England’s top 50, according to the study by care home operator Lovett Care.
