Lidl is to open more than 50 stores across the UK as part of a £600million investment drive.

The supermarket chain, which has its UK headquarters in Tolworth, overtook Morrisons in May to become Britain’s fifth-largest grocer.

It has also seen a boost in sales over the last year, with reported revenues up by nearly 11%.
