They will be available to people already living in the borough, including those paying social rent.
Construction is expected to start next year with the properties expected to be ready by 2029.
The development will also include communal gardens, public spaces and areas for businesses, leisure and hospitality.
The new homes, which are part of the council’s Homes for Wandsworth programme, will be built on a currently undeveloped brownfield plot within Phase 5 of the Battersea Power Station masterplan, to the east of the Grade II listed Power Station.
The 200 new council homes being delivered by Wandsworth Council and Battersea Power Station have been designed by Peckham-based architecture studio, Dowen Farmer, Architects.
Deputy Mayor of London for Housing and Residential Development, Tom Copley, said: “I am delighted planning permission has been granted for 200 new high-quality council homes in Wandsworth, which marks an important milestone in the delivery of a vibrant new neighbourhood at Battersea Power Station.
“The Mayor and I are proud to be working with Battersea Power Station and Wandsworth Council, providing investment to deliver social housing at one of London’s most iconic regeneration sites, as we work to build a fairer, more prosperous London for everyone.”
