82% of Heathrow workers have reported problems with staff facilities over the past year according to a new report from Unite Union.

30% claimed poor conditions had made them ill, while 61% have reported dirty or poorly maintained loos.

59% said there were not enough places to take breaks, and 16% say they’ve seen pests including mice, rats and cockroaches.

The union is calling on Heathrow Airport Limited to improve cleaning, repairs and staff facilities.

A Heathrow spokesperson has told us:

“We take the cleanliness of the airport incredibly seriously and have teams working day and night to keep Heathrow clean.

While we don’t recognise the extent of the claims in this poll, we will always investigate and deal with reports of pests.”
