The amount of vehicle charging points across Croydon could be increased thanks to a £950,000 funding grant.

There are around 430 such points in the borough at the moment but the council is expecting demand to rise to 4,500 by 2035.

49% of households also don’t have a private driveway, which authority bosses say leaves them financially disadvantaged.

The funding for EV expansion is coming from the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles and will be in place until 2028.
