Surrey Police is warning people about scammers pretending to be police officers over the phone.

The callers can make it look like they are calling from the force’s real 101 number, even though they are not.

Police say officers will never suddenly ask for your bank details, money, or expensive items over the phone.

If you get a suspicious call, hang up and contact Surrey Police on 101 to check who called you, or call 999 in an emergency.
