The former Cambridge professor was found dead in his Battersea Home on Friday.
He had resigned from his position following allegations of plagiarism, which he denied.
His family have thanked those who’ve contributed towards funeral costs, saying they want to remember him for the ‘positive difference he made in the world’.
His friend Mike Freeman has been paying tribute.
The Leader of Wandsworth Council, Councillor Robert Morritt, has expressed his condolences.
“I am saddened by the tragic death of Jason Arday.
“On behalf of Wandsworth Council, I extend my heartfelt condolences to Jason’s family, friends and all those who knew and loved him.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this incredibly difficult time, and I hope their privacy will be respected as they grieve.”
