The child was having lunch with their family at Vardo in Duke of York Square in January 2022.
Their foot became trapped in a descending, or sinking window, mechanism as it was being closed.
The child sustained injuries which required multiple operations.
They now face potential long-term complications, including chronic pain and impaired mobility.
In court, Vardo’s owners were found guilty of breaching the Health and Safety at Work Act.
The company was fined £50,000 and ordered to pay a £2,000 victim surcharge and £23,705 towards the Council’s costs.
