Previously, a crater reported by a resident would be logged online before the job was passed to a separate team for repairs.
Now, council crews actively tour the borough looking for defects and carry the tools and materials needed to repair potholes there and then.
The council says this is helping to bring the average repair time down to seven days, alongside urgent on-the-spot repairs.
