Croydon Council is stepping up action to improve standards in the private rented sector.

A new policy is outlining how it will deal with landlords who fail to meet their legal responsibilities.

The council says the document provides a clear and consistent approach to deciding when enforcement action is needed.

Around a third of homes in Croydon are privately rented.
