Sir Keir Starmer says his ‘work is done’ as he leaves Downing Street for the final time.

He walked out to applause, and hand-in-hand with his wife.

Members of his staff and ministers gathered in the sunshine, either side of Number 10 to hear his farewell which he used to reflect on his work on immigration, and reducing poverty.

Sir Keir then headed to Buckingham Palace to formally resign to the King.
