The man died after being stabbed on a bus at the junction of Bath Road and Great Southwest Road in the early hours of yesterday.
Police have launched a murder investigation and are appealing for anyone with CCTV, doorbell or phone footage to come forward.
Extra police patrols will be in place in the area over the coming days to reassure residents.
Hounslow Council Leader Councillor Shantanu Rajawat has issued a statement following the fatal stabbing which took place at the junction Bath Road and Great Southwest Road.
Councillor Shantanu Rajawat, Leader of Hounslow Council, said:
“I am shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the death of a 22 year-old man following a stabbing on a bus at the junction of Bath Road and the Great Southwest Road in the early hours of Tuesday 30 June.
“My thoughts, and those of everyone at Hounslow Council, are with everyone who knew and loved this young man.
“The Met Police have launched a murder investigation and have asked to hear from anyone with any information or footage, including CCTV, doorbell or mobile phone footage, as these could provide vital evidence.
“I would like to reassure communities in Hounslow that the police are doing everything they can to bring those responsible to justice and you will see an increase in police numbers in the coming days as reassurance patrols take place in the area.”
