She was best known for her roles in To The Manor Born and The Good Life, which centered around a couple living in Surbiton.
The latter earning her a Bafta award in 1977.
Her family say she passed away peacefully at home near Guildford whilst living with cancer.
She was made a Dame in 2014 by the late Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle:
