Some waste collections in Elmbridge are being delayed by up to two days with the situation expected to last up to four weeks.

The council says it’s because of vehicle availability and staffing and residents should still leave bins out for collection as normal.

The authority also says crews are travelling further to dispose of waste, which is affecting how quickly they can complete their rounds.

We’re told waste disposal staff are working longer hours and at weekends to “catch up.”
