A school in Mitcham has increased walking and cycling by 4% over the space of a year.

William Morris is one of 18 schools being commended for its efforts in getting parents and children out of cars on the school run.

Cheam Common Junior Academy and Dundonald Primary in Wimbledon are two others being praised by Transport for London.

Each of the 18 schools have delivered improvements recommended by TfL including installing cycle and scooter facilities at their sites.

William Morris School increased walking and cycling by 4% between April 2025 and April 2026, and it also did so by 8% between 2020 and 2023.
