Runnymede Borough Council is extending a trial to leave some parks open overnight this summer, despite concerns crime could increase.

Several parks have been unlocked since November, with the authority saying there has been no measurable rise in antisocial behaviour.

Victory Park in Addlestone and Chertsey recreation ground will now join the trial, with, we’re told, some savings spent on new CCTV.

The council will review the scheme later this year to see how it performed during the busier summer months.
