Hounslow Council has begun action to remove an unauthorised encampment in Boston Manor Park in Brentford.

Clitherow’s Island had been fenced off for years amid concerns over antisocial behaviour, environmental damage and poor conditions.

Councillors said the gates have now come down and the area will be cleared and restored for public use.

Plans include environmental recovery work and a new community orchard.
