Hounslow Council is urging residents to seek support and look out for one another as the World Cup begins.

Research suggests domestic abuse incidents can rise by 38% when England lose, 26% when they win, and stay 11% higher the following day.

The council is backing Crimestoppers’ “Let’s call time on abuse” campaign and says support is available locally for anyone affected.

Residents are encouraged to contact support services, the One Stop Shop, or call 999 in an emergency.
