The ambulance service that covers Surrey has had its rating upgraded following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission.

South East Coast Ambulance Service is now rated ‘Good’ for both emergency 999 calls and call handling.

In their report, inspectors say services are now safer and staff are better trained and learning from mistakes.

SECAmb, which also covers Sussex, Kent and part of Hampshire, says it will keep working to improve patient care.
