Conrad Hall has 23 years of experience in local government, most recently at Newham Council.

He will be responsible for a range of governance functions, such as finance, audit, property and procurement.

Croydon Council has been under severe financial pressure, effectively going bankrupt three times since 2020.

The authority says its budget proposals include savings of £34 million this year and next, and £30million savings every year until 2029.

It says it plans to reduce its request for exceptional financial support from the Government by £34million next year.

At the last elections in 2022, Conservative Executive Mayor, Jason Perry vowed to fix Corydon’s finances.

He was re-elected to the role at last week’s Local Elections.
