Shoppers turned up to the store earlier where they where they found a sign on the door that stated it was closed due to a “major incident.”

It has been confirmed that a burst pipe has caused a roof leak.

A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said, “Our Sury Basin superstore is temporarily closed while we fix a leak in the roof caused by a burst pipe. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and are working to reopen as soon as possible. Customers can continue to shop with us online or visit our Kingston Superstore, which remains open as usual.”
