Epsom’s MP says people need to be aware of the speed at which misinformation can spread on social media.

Lib Dem Helen Maguire has been speaking to Jackie News following two protests in the town centre last month.

Demonstrators took to the streets unhappy with Surrey Police’s investigation into an alleged rape on April the 11th.

That’s despite officers saying the incident had not happened as reported to them.

Ms Maguire says people who are spreading misinformation need to be held to account.
