While Kingston council continues to vote count, the area’s MP, and Lib Dem leader, Sir Ed Davey, is in Portsmouth.

The Prime Minister’s vowed to fight on as Labour party leader despite a crushing night of results in local council elections in England.

Sir Keir Starmer’s party’s lost control of nine local authorities, including Oxford, Hartlepool and Exeter.

Meanwhile, the big winners so far have been Reform UK, who’ve scooped almost 400 seats, but only have control of 2 councils so far.

Despite losses elsewhere, the Conservatives have won back control of Westminster council from Labour.

And the Lib Dems have picked up gains, winning control of Portsmouth and Stockport.

Votes are now being counted for the parliamentary elections in Scotland and Wales.
