The prime minister’s written to the boss of Travelodge, insisting she must engage with MPs over concerns about the safety of its female customers.

It’s after a guest was sexually assaulted at one of its hotels in Berkshire four years ago and offered just £30-in compensation.

29-year-old Kyran Smith from Staines was jailed for seven-and-a-half years following the attack in 2022.

The company’s apologised and has committed to an independent review of its room security policies.
