From 31 March everyone in Surrey should be able to recycle the same materials wherever they live.
New items include empty aerosol cans, squeezy plastic tubes, and rinsed empty cartons which can now be put into home recycling bins.
The Mayor posted on Facebook that, until now, he had to take trips to Walton Station car park to deposit his cartons and tetrapaks.
