The government being urged to back an extension of St Helier Hospital’s A&E department in Carshalton.

It’s after a promised new hospital building has been delayed until at least 2032.

Lib Dem MP for Carshalton and Wallington, Bobby Dean, hosted a parliamentary debate last night.

He said news that a fund will be made available to upgrade A&Es across the country is encouraging for his campaign.

Health minister, Karen Smyth says the government is investing £30 billion in the NHS over next 5 years.
