Airports in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Kuwait have all been damaged, and holidaymakers have reported sheltering in hotel car parks.

Heathrow: all flights between the UK and Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Doha and the UAE are suspended because of the conflict in the Middle East. Check with your airline before heading to the airport.

The Airspace over Israel, Syria, Iraq, Iran and the Persian Gulf is closed. Some long haul flights are able to divert, but journeys that would normally require a stop at one of the hubs in the region will be affected.
