Bosses at the new Space Institute at the University of Surrey want the UK to lead its own missions within the next decade.

Director, Professor Adam Amara says the country should trust its abilities and stop relying on others to run space projects.

The Institute will train people, work with businesses and within research areas like climate, satellites and deep space travel.

It aims to give future scientists and engineers hands-on experience and open up space-led opportunities for UK companies.
