Surrey Football Association is asking parents not to smoke or vape from the sidelines at children’s matches.

It’s contacting more than 540 clubs across the county to take part in its new initiative, called Smokefree Sidelines.

The FA says children are more likely to be influenced by what they see.

According to the Department of Health and Social Care, there are about 86,500 smokers in Surrey.
