£700,000 is being put into a six-year study at the University of Surrey to find out why some groups struggle to access cancer treatment.

Barriers to cancer care for people with learning disabilities, mental health issues, or poverty will be explored.

The study will also speak directly with patients to understand the challenges they face while receiving care.

It’ll also encompass breast cancer patients to see why some struggle to stay on treatment over time.
