Police were called to The Broadway in the early hours of Sunday to reports of a stabbing.
40-year-old Luke Brereton from Mitcham died at the scene.
35-year-old Amar Zafar has been remanded in custody until his next scheduled appearance at the Old Bailey on Wednesday.
