Surrey Police is urging residents to protect family gold and high-value jewellery from thieves.

They’re advising using secure, fire-rated safes or safety deposit vaults.

Home security measures like locks, alarms, CCTV and timers are also being recommended.

Those with high value gold should be registered and photographed in case a future claim is needed to be made.
