Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a shop with dwellings above on St Johns Road in Battersea.
A small part of a third floor flat and a first floor flat were damaged by the fire. There are no reports of any injuries.
Control Officers took the first of five calls at 5pm yesterday and mobilised crews from Battersea, Clapham and Tooting fire stations to the scene. The fire was extinguished by 6.30pm.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and was caused by water leaking into electrics.
