Blazes involving lithium batteries are one of the fastest growing fire risks in the county.

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service says it has attended over 30 fires caused by them since the start of 2023.

We’re being urged not to place lithium batteries in our regular bin or recycling as they can become easily damaged and cause a blaze.

We’re also being urged to only use the correct chargers for e-bikes and e-scooters and never leave them unattended when charging.
