The London Fire Brigade are reminding people of the dangers candles can pose following a spate of fires over the festive period.

On Christmas Day, Crews were called to a flat fire in Elmwood Road in Croydon after a candle ignited bedding.

On Christmas Eve, firefighters fought a fire at maisonette in Peckham which was caused by a candle left unattended.
