A woman has been charged with criminal damage to a police van at a protest outside HMP Bronzefield in Ashford.

22-year-old Mehvish Khan was part of a group gathering outside the prison on Wednesday amid a prisoner hunger strike in support of Palestine Action.

20-year-old Qesser Zuhrah, who is on day 46, left in an ambulance to receive urgent medical attention causing a scuffle at the prison gates.

Khan, of no fixed abode, appeared at Staines Magistrates Court and pleaded not guilty.

She’ll next appear in court on 8^th April 2026.
