24-year-old Ibrahim Ahmed stabbed his landlord on his doorstep, leaving him with life-threatening injuries, including a collapsed lung.
Ahmed fled the scene but was arrested two days later and found guilty after a seven-day trial at Croydon Crown Court.
Police and the London Ambulance Service praised local residents who gave first aid, helping to save the victim’s life.
